The Lychgate Cottages at 3-6 Priory Row is a row of timber-framed properties dating to around 1415. It is a remarkable survival of a pre-Dissolution building at the heart of Coventry’s city centre.

City Gates | Sun 17 September 2023, 12:30pm – 4:30pm

We are excited to be opening the newly restored Swanswell and Cook Street Gates to visitors on Sunday 16 September, as part of Heritage Open Days.

Despite their prominent location and significance in Coventry’s history, Swanswell and Cook Street Gates have remained closed to the public for many years. Recently refurbished as bespoke quality visitor accommodation, this heritage open day offers a look at the medieval gatehouses following their recent transformation into holiday accommodation and reintroduction into the cultural life of the city.
