Drop in for a family day out to uncover the past and discover the future of Charterhouse Heritage Park
Part of the city-wide Wildlife Gathering, join us for a fun-filled family-friendly day out as Charterhouse walled garden springs back to life and is revealed to the public for the first time.
Uncover the past as we delve into the natural heritage stories of Charterhouse, one of only nine Carthusian monasteries ever built in the country. Discover the future as we share our plans for Coventry’s new Heritage Park.
Wander around the walled garden, go on a tour, listen to live folk music, have a go at heritage crafts and enjoy street theatre! All these activities are free. You can also pre-order a picnic box, bring your own or purchase from the pop up tea and cake stall.
11am – 4pm
On the hour garden tours. Learn more about the past, present and future life of the walled garden. Garden tours are limited and pre-booked tickets are now fully booked. Turn up on the day and request a tour, as there are some additional spaces bookable on the day.

Bee Cart by Piff Paff
Delve into the world of bees and pollination with this surreal roaming outdoor theatre show for all the family.
12pm & 2pm
Ear Trumpet by Gobbledegook Theatre
An interactive theatre performance about the sound under the ground, the noises that you would miss if you didn’t listen for them.
12pm – 3pm
Pre-order a delicious gourmet picnic box by tuttoAPPOSTO here (by 16 May) and collect on the day between 12pm – 3pm at the main tent at Charterhouse. Or, feel free to bring your own!

ROSSO Duo live folk music on the Charterhouse garden stage.
11am – 4pm
Slow stitch and natural dying with Julia O’Connell in the apple store and paper making with Rosie Bolton in the Food Union kitchen garden.
11am, 1pm & 3pm
Walking tours of Charterhouse Heritage Park. Help Charterhouse Residents Association decide where to plant blossom trees of the future alongside the National Trust. The pre-bookable tours are fully booked but there are some bookable spaces on the day.
Refreshments are available to purchase from the pop up tea and cake stall.
Charterhouse is a ‘work in progress’ construction site, please wear sturdy shoes.
The main house is not open as part of this event.
Assistance dogs only within Charterhouse grounds. Please keep your dogs on leads on Charterhouse Fields during this special event.

Charterhouse is currently a construction site with uneven surfaces throughout. There is no wheelchair access in the garden at this time with some limited wheelchair access onto Charterhouse Fields for picnicking and to enjoy the free street theatre.
