Greg Abate jazz saxophonist, flutist, composer continues as an International Jazz/Recording Artist with 225 days a year touring the globe.

In the mid 70’s after finishing a four year program at Berklee College Of Music, Greg played lead alto for the Ray Charles Orchestra for 2 years.

In 1978 Greg formed his group Channel One which was a favorite in the New England area and from there had the opportunity to play tenor sax with the revived Artie Shaw Orchestra under leadership of Dick Johnson from 1986 to ’87.

Following this experience Greg ventured out as post hard bop soloist playing Jazz Festivals, Jazz Societies and Jazz Clubs throughout the U.S. Canada and abroad, including most of Europe, UK, and Moscow and Georgia Russia.

Tom Marsh, bass player, 0riginally from St. David’s, Pembrokeshire is a recent graduate of the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire and is an up and coming bassist and composer. Currently based in Birmingham he is influenced by a wide range of music from folk, rock and blues to all forms of jazz, including the music of Charles Mingus, Julian Lage and John Martyn. He released his debut album ‘What’s Wrong With Rain?’ in 2023. Along with various of his own projects, Tom has played with a growing range of established UK jazz musicians including Simon Spillett, Alan Barnes, Bruce Adams and Art Themen.

Tim Amann is a jazz pianist, composer, and arranger based in Birmingham, UK, whose lyrical and melodic style blends elements of hard bop, gospel, blues, folk, and Latin influences. An established figure in the Midlands jazz scene, he is best known as the leader of the Tim Amann xTet, an ensemble that has become a regular presence on the UK jazz circuit since the 1990s. The current group features longstanding friends and collaborators saxophonist Sam Rogers and bassist Adam Gilchrist, as well as Amann’s adult sons Aidan (drums) and Gabriel (trumpet), reflecting the cross-generational energy that defines much of their sound.

In addition to leading his own group, Amann is also a longstanding member of Andy Hamilton’s calypso jazz group, The Bluenotes, and with trumpeter and composer in Ray Butcher in Butcher’s Brew. He also contributes original compositions to the Walsall Jazz Orchestra, which he has played with for many years; an ensemble renowned for promoting new writing in British jazz. His compositional voice is marked by melodic clarity, and a harmonic lyricism that bridges traditional jazz idioms with folk and world-music influences.

With the xTet, Amann has released three studio albums, including ‘X-Tet’, ‘The Scarecrows’, and ‘Still Waters’. These recordings have been praised for their accessible yet original blend. The group has performed widely, touring twice in Scotland and Russia, and once in Germany where they recorded their second album. They have also appeared several times at the Montreux Jazz Festival as well as various UK jazz festivals over many years.

Amann in addition to these projects has played with a wide array of British, American and other international jazz artists including Art Farmer, David Murray, Scott Hamilton, Greg Abate, Enrique Pla, Oleg Kiriyev, Courtney Pine, Tim Garland, Dave O’Higgins, Guy Barker, Tim Whitehead, Dennis Rollins, Art Themen, Bobby Wellins, Alan Barnes and Bruce Adams.
