Dead Good Death Café

Sat 24 February 2024 10am- 12pm

'Death is not the opposite of life, but a part of it' - Haruki Murakami

So, what is a Death Café?

Come to a safe space where people talk about anything and everything to do with death. By talking openly about death, it helps to remove some of the fear factor, but also help up to open our eyes about choices, different cultural ways of dealing with death, but then ultimately to enhance life.

There is no set agenda on how the discussion will go, the conversation should just flow organically and it is a place to discuss your thoughts and feelings and also explore other people’s ideas too.

This is not designed as a grief counselling group, but there are those who find great comfort in ‘facing things head on’. It is a safe space for sharing, listening, learning, and supporting each other.

As this is a Death Café, there will be tea/coffee and a variety of cakes available including a very special 'death by chocolate' cake! The event is free of charge to be accessible to all, we welcome a small donation on booking.

Everyone welcome regardless of age, religion, non religion, gender or background.

Made possible with National Lottery Heritage Fund and Heritage Community Fund part of the Parks for People programme.

Facilitated by local celebrant Lisa Dundas

Lisa is a local celebrant working in and around the Coventry and Warwickshire area who is passionate about getting people to talk more openly about death and the fears surrounding death and dying. By being more open, we can tell our loved ones what our wishes are so when the time comes, it is less stressful for them wondering if that is what was wanted.

‘We are all different in life, why should we all be the same in death?’
