Deep dive into the history and conservation of the medieval wall painting at Charterhouse
The first in our series of Charterhouse Reveals events celebrating the restoration process at Charterhouse. Join us for a talk about the history and significance of the crucifixion wall painting at Charterhouse, one of only nine Carthusian monasteries in the UK.
The free two-hour tour includes exclusive access to the wall painting, a history talk by heritage specialists Perry Lithgow and a live painting and gilding demonstration by Saskia Huning. There will be a focus on exploring how the painting might of looked when newly painted.
This event is now SOLD OUT, however we are also excited to be unveiling the Elizabethan wall painting on Sun 8 May for which tickets are still available. Visit our what's on page for more details.
