The Lychgate Cottages on Priory Row are some of the oldest buildings in the city, dating from 1415, and provide a unique place to stay in the heart of Coventry.

The cottages retain the character of the jetted timber framed buildings now combined with modern luxury to provide high quality self-contained accommodation.

4 Priory Row is a large three storey double fronted cottage with three double bedrooms, and sleeps six people. The property suits a large family group or larger group of friends visiting.

Please note that this historic property has steep steps, to both the first and second floors.

4 Priory Row is a large three-storey double fronted cottage – a historic building with modern luxury.

Original features such as the unique timber framing of the building are combined with modern luxury to ensure a really comfortable stay. Luxurious beds and plenty of hot water in a modern shower or bath, along with all you need in the kitchen and living areas are available right in the heart of the city. With views over Holy Trinity church and Broadgate, Priory Row is an oasis in this historic city.

Downstairs there is a large living room, with comfy modern sofa and chairs, and a separate dining area. The large modern kitchen has Silestone grey quartz worktops, modern Rangemaster range cooker with induction hob, integrated dishwasher, microwave, fridge with icebox, and quality cooking equipment. To the rear is a downstairs toilet, and access to the rear private enclosed courtyard which is available for guests.

On the first floor are two large double bedrooms with two bathrooms, one with a large luxury shower, and the other with a modern freestanding bath.

On the second floor is a further double bedroom with en-suite bathroom.

Access

4 Priory Row is an historic building (dating to the 15th century). There are steep winding steps to both first and second floors. While there are sturdy handrails fitted to the staircases, we would not recommend the property to those with mobility issues, or to those with babies, toddlers, or older infants.

3-6 Priory Row (also known as Lychgate Cottages) is a row of three timber-framed properties dating to around 1415. It is a remarkable survival of a pre-Dissolution building at the heart of Coventry’s high street area. Find out more about the history of the building and its restoration here.
