Memories of Lady Herbert’s Garden and the City Gates

News  |

We are looking for people who have memories of Lady Herbert’s Garden and the City Gates in Coventry that would be willing to share them with us, as part of our ‘Gates and Gardens’ oral history project. The more recent history of the site is at risk of being lost to time, and this project is an important step in preserving these personal histories. Expanding our knowledge of the site is crucial to developing our understanding of the role it has played within the community throughout time, and will help to shape how Historic Coventry Trust will be telling its story to future generations.

We are interested in hearing any experiences you may have with the site, such as memories of living nearby, spending time in or walking through the garden, visiting the City Gates while they were occupied or any other stories you might have. If you would like to contribute, please email the Heritage Engagement Coordinator at francesca.marsland@historiccoventry.org.uk, we would love to hear from you!
